What should I expect at the workshop?
During the workshop, you will hear presentations from a legal expert in the divorce field, a financial professional and a family counselor. Each presenter will cover important topics in their field as they relate to divorce. You'll then have the opportunity to ask questions, meet with divorce professionals, connect with resources for your specific situation, and mingle with other individuals going through divorce.
Why were the Second Saturday workshops started?
Second Saturday was started to help everyone in any stage of untying the knot in an unbiased manner. Divorce is about family, emotion and money. Second Saturday deals with the issues of divorce in a logical, yet compassionate way.
Who are the presenters?
The presenters are non-biased, local professionals including a divorce attorney, a family counselor and a financial professional. Full bios on our presenters can be found here.
How much does the workshop cost?
The fee for the workshop is $25.
What if I cannot afford the workshop fee?
Our goal is to help those going through divorce. If you cannot afford the registration fee, please contact us at SecondSaturdayMD@gmail.com.
Is the workshop held virtually or in-person?
At this time, the workshops are being held virtually through Zoom.
Is Second Saturday a non-profit?
Yes. Our founders believe this is a service that is needed and through the generous donation of one donor we were able to take the chapter national. We have many parnters across the country that have opended local non-profit chapters. Our goal is to educate those with inforamtion around the divorce process.
Why is the non-profit called Second Saturday?
Our workshops are held on the second saturday of each month.
What is the history behind Second Saturday?
Second Saturday was founded in 1989 by two women who saw a need for others to be better informed about the financial and legal options related to divorce. Second Saturday is an extension of WIFE.org, a nationally acclaimed non-profit devoted to female financial literacy.
Is Second Saturday a national organization?
Yes, we were founded in San Diego but have locations in 29 states.

Can men attend the workshops?
Second Saturday was originally started to help women through the divorce process, but we are here to help everyone who is going through this difficult time.
Can I attend more than one Second Saturday session?
You are more than welcome to attend as many sessions of the workshop as you would like. While we generally cover the same content during each workshop, you may find that you are more open to receiving the message the second time around and that you have additional questions.
